Hi, I’m Ali and I’ve been competing in triathlon and duathlon since 2013. In that time I have represented GBR Age-Group and raced in European and World Championships. I’m a keen runner and it’s my strongest discipline so in 2017 I decided to focus purely on running. I have raced 5K to multi day marathon/ultra events, all of which have taught me a lot about the sport both as an athlete and a coach and I am driven by helping other athletes with the knowledge and learning I have gathered.I am passionate about having an active lifestyle and being able to perform at the best of my ability. I think it’s vital for people’s health and wellbeing to engage in some form of physical activity and the world of triathlon can bring a lot of fun!
My formal qualifications include CiRF (Coaching in Running Fitness). I also plan to continue taking more advanced running coaching qualifications. I am a keen advocate of charity work and I have volunteered with War Child to help their charity runners in the run up to marathon running. I am also a Media Volunteer for Rethink Mental Illness and have written a number of blogs about the benefit of sport, and running in-particular, on mental health. In 2016 I spent 3 months in Turkey as a Humanitarian Volunteer supporting and working closely with Syrian refugees.
I am passionate about having an active lifestyle and being able to perform at the best of my ability and I’m also passionate about helping the people I coach reach their goals and potential through structured and thought-out coaching. I think it’s vital for people to have a goal to work to and to realise that they can almost certainly always achieve a lot more than they think they are capable of.
