Hi I’m Charlotte. I’ve been competing in triathlon for about 6 years – initially it was a bit of fun with friends, but the more finish lines I crossed the more I wanted to keep going. I’ve now completed a sprint distance all the way up to the ultimate ironman and did so in the space of 2 years. I’ve completed numerous half marathons and 2 full marathons as well as 10k and 5k races; I’ve done dirt runs, fun runs and a number of swimming and cycling events too.
My background is playing rugby which I played in my 20’s through to my mid 30’s. I played in championship one and had play offs for the premiership as well as playing at county level. I finally hung up my boots and left the muddy field for the hunt to start competing as opposed to just completing triathlons.
I have gone on to successfully qualify to represent GB as an age grouper in aquathon as well as long course triathlon. Sadly I am yet to wear the kit and compete as in 2017 my beautiful daughter arrived so through 2017 triathlon for me took a back seat. Now 2018 is here I am determined to make a come back and earn that GB vest!
Whilst on maternity leave I decided to study for my level one coaching qualification. I figured if im helping people in my free time anyway then I may as well be qualified to do so! Now qualified I am looking to go on and do my level two. I’m already a cycle leader and am looking into further training.
Although I dont work full time in coaching my heart is 100% in it. Out of work and in my own time I have helped many friends go on to finish their first 5k/10k / half marathon and have helped many improve their times in many races. I look after an unofficial running club in my town and am always looking to get people into swimming, biking and running. I love to see others achieve their goals and dreams – Anything really is possible and to me there’s no better feeling than helping others.
