Jenson and Dan have kick started the triathlon season by making fantastic debuts!
In the Henley Triathlon, 7 year old Jenson was one of the youngest competitors in the race, taking on a 25m swim, 1km cycle and 500m run. He had a storming race to finish in a total time of 10 minutes 35 seconds, just over a minute off the quickest time. This time next year we think Jenson might be gunning for the top of the podium! The event was really well organised and comes highly recommended by Jenson’s parents (you can find more info about the event here).
Meanwhile Dan raced in the Sandwell Triathlon with the swim section being in open water as opposed to a pool!!! Even adults find swimming in open water scary or challenging so this was a fantastic achievement by Dan! He had been up to Top Barn Activity Centre a few times with coach Jacqui to practice sighting and other open water skills and then took on this race which consisted of a 300m swim section followed by a 6k bike and 2.4k run (that’s a long way!!!). Dan finished in a very impressive 36minutes 38 seconds. Well done!!!
