This weekend (15th April) saw the running of the Black Country Triathletes Duathlon at the Stourport Sports Club where the Tri Energy Kids train each week. The sun shone during the whole event but a stiff breeze made for tricky running and cycling conditions. The Tri Energy Kids were out in force at this event with 10 of the children taking on the competition. They really stuck together as a group, supporting and cheering each other on throughout the day. First up were Jenson and Samantha competing in the TriStart Category. Jenson was on the podium again, finishing 2nd overall whilst Samantha just missed out on a trophy as she finished 4th girl home. Next up was William P, Bobby and Amaya featuring in the TriStar 1 Category. William narrowly missed out on the top spot of the podium finishing in 2nd place with Bobby 7th boy home and Amaya finishing 11th. Next up was Charlie, Aran, Alfie and William in the TriStart 2 Category. The boys clearly had a race plan sticking together during the early laps of the 1 mile run. The cycle leg of the race proved a little bit tricky with some confusion over the number of laps that needed to be completed. They all put in a great effort and were in good spirits after the race. Dan was last up in the TriStart 3 category having a strong race to finish 10th male overall. Another great event and good to see so many Tri Energy Kids taking part.
